Is it worthwhile to apply a Rom upgrade

Recently bought an iPAQ 3955. First off, thanks to this great resource, I've found answers to every question I've had. Wireless working like a charm with my existing home network, activesync works, etc. I notice that the iPAQ has rom 1.0. From reading, I see the 1.10 upgrade had flaws, and was replaced with 1.11. Is there any particular benefit to making the 1.00 -> 1.11 upgrade? I'm concerned that things might act up when I go to reinstall all my stuff after the upgrade, and just wondering if I should go with the old "If it ain't broke....." philosophy.

The question's become moot now. An install of pocketDIVX 0.8 screwed up the unit (3955) so badly that a hard reset was required. Once I did that, blowing away all my installed pgms, I figured I might as well go for it. The 1.11 ROM upgrade went without a hitch, and pocketDIVX will never come near my iPAQ again.
