trying everything but help with 3650

My 3650 just want sync anymore

I have tried
--reset, softrest, bought a new sync cord, tried syncing it to another computer, but it will inport/export infrared..my computers(plug and play) recognized it as a usb going wrong.

I called Compaq... they want $36.00 to tell me the answer..wow!!
I have a 3835 along with it and trying to study the difference in the syncing problem.. the only thing I can see that the 3650 keep syncing to 115200 default and will not stay on USB default(I don't care how much I click to try to keep it on the usb default it will go back to the 115200 default) I uncheck by the box near them but nothing is working.

Question- I think the problem is the the sync application(Activesync) is not working right, but there is no way around.
Somebody tell me how to get Active sync in my PDA going(the software part) or where is the hiding file I can make it default to USB always?

I don't know if you've tried this or not, or even if it will help, but try uninstall activesync on the desktop and reinstall it, you may want to install the latest version of activesync.

Oh I forgot to added that I have already down load the new active sync 3.6. But it is not the Active Sync on my desktop, because my 3835 work with both desktop..
Please give me somemore objective thoughts, I need to think what did I miss.

Have you tried deleting this particular partnership on the desktop's Activesync? Then re-sync with usb and create a new partnership.

One question, is your 3650 still running pocketpc2000 OS? I believe 3850 has pocketpc2002. You might consider upgrade your 3650 to pocketpc2002 to make your 3650 similar to 3850.

I have deleted the partnership re-installed new version also I have even deleted the partnership on my 2nd computer and re-installed new version (3.6) just to see if 1st computer is having problems.

Oh yes, I think it is to OS, because I can infrared info and not usb sync up, but I need to sync up to download the new OS into the 3650. Is there another way?

Please keep coming with idea that you may believed I missed.

I have talked to a Compaq tech a few months ago regarding the full difficulties that I was having. And after going through with the Tech rep about the things I noted earlier. He resulted to the my circuit sync board has a glinch, but it is fixable. (It will cost $40-100 dollar to fix it)...... So I thought to myself and said... will it sync by infrared?????... Took a chance on ebay and bought the usb infrared gadget and POW!!!! IT WORK!.. Here is a link to how it look.(but I still need to fix the ordinary way)

Have you considered the possibility that the sync plug on the bottom of your ipaq may be the culprit. These totally inadequate, incredibily flimsy, hard to align, pain in the @@#@#!! connectors go south all the time. My new 5455 connector failed after 2 months of use; which is the main reason why, immediately after the repair, I purchased the 3 year extended warrantee for $100. Compaq/HP should be horsewhipped for not upgrading this connector on their latest models. In this one area Palm is far superior. Are you listening HP!!!

Sorry for the tirade, but considering how sturdy the rest of the Ipaq is there is no excuse for this.
