Digitizer stops after Hot Sync

Dear All

I downloaded Palm OS 3.5.3 in my Palm Vx.After Hot Sync operation was complete, a window asked to delete the installer.I deleted the same.Next a window asked to reset the Palm.I did the same.After that the digitizer stopped responding.I performed a soft re-set but problem not solved.Then I performed a hard re-set and problem was solved and everything functioned OK.Again I Hot Sync with the PC, after Hot Sync is over, a window in Palm Vx asked to perform re-set.With no other option I did the same.Again the digitizer stopped working.It is important to note that these problems started only after downloading the Palm OS v 3.5.3.That is after installing this the digitizer stopped working.Before downloading Palm OS 3.5.3 evrything including HotSync worked fine.There was no such window in Palm Vx asking to re-set before installing Palm OS 3.5.3.

Did your Vx come with Palm OS 3.5 installed? 3.5.3 is an upgrade "patch" to OS 3.5... if you try to install 3.5.3 on a device with OS 3.3 or lower, you will get problems.

(To delete the upgrade, do a warm reset--hold the up-scroll button down while poking the reset button on the back of the unit, then when the Palm Computing logo appears, let go of the up-scroll button. Then, go to the program launcher, tap Menu, then Delete. Find "3.5.3 Upgrade" or whatever it's called, then delete it.)

Thanks for the reply.My Palm Vx has come with Palm OS 3.5.0 to be exact.I checked the Palm website for compatibility with Palm OS 3.5.0.They have mentioned that Palm 3.5.3 can be loaded to PalmVx with 3.5.0.Then only I downloaded the same.Unfortunately the PalmVx asked for reset after the Hot Sync.Thereafter the digitizer stopped working and I am facing problem since.

Thanks for the solution.AFter hard re set everthing is fine.I also re named the Backup file in C/Palm/User/Backup.I re named it Back up 2 and again Hot Synced.Thereafter no problem came.
