I am trying to transfer files between my IBM T21 laptop and iPaq (3635). The wireless link icon appears on my laptop (my laptop recognizes the iPaq). In the pop up window, when I click a small text file and click "Send", I receive the following error message: "The transfer failed. An error occurred while Wireless Link was connecting to the other device. No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it." On the iPaq, I have it on the Infrared Receive screen and it shows "Establishing connection with <LAPTOP NAME>..." I have successfully transferred files via IR between my laptop and other laptops.

Please help! Thanks!!!

the Ipaq is not capable of sending to files to anything except for an Ipaq without the use of a program such as peacemaker pro. the reason for this being that the laptop will not recognize the file... well at least this is my experience.

www.peacemakerpro.com

the program is about $20

Try the following:

Go into the PC setup and set the infrared interface speed for "low speed". I know that is what it took to get the IR interface working on my Dell Latitude laptop. Worth a try.

I have the same trouble, too. It doesn't make any difference decreasing the maximum connection speed.
