Has anyone tried to connect to the internet with an iPAQ 38XX and a GPRS mobile phone ? (through the infrared port). I have made this work with a siemens S45 mobile phone, and since i'm going to get a new phone next week i would like to know what other phone options do i have.

Thanks for any help...

I assume that you already have the IPAQ. If it is an H3870, then you can, of course, use bluetooth instead of infrared. In this case, you could select the Ericsson T39 or the T68 plus various Nokia phones - 8310, for example.

I have successfully connected my IPAQ H3870 through my Ericsson T39, via GPRS and have had great success in surfing the web and downloading realtime maps for navigation.

Good luck!

Yep, got the iPAQ and it's the 3835, that's why i'm refering to infrared. I thought the T65 did not have an infrared port. Better check again. It's nice you got it to work with an ericsson phone though. I started this thread because before i decided to switch to an iPAQ device i could not get my cassiopeia to connect to the web (just a simple dialup connection through the phone's modem back then) with any phone other than siemens. So now i'd like to be certain about such combatibility issues.

Thanks again

I use a 3850 with a T68i with gprs via infra red without any problems - works very well. Took about a minute to set it up, couldn't be easier.
