I have a Palm M100 and M130. I installed the Palm desktop and sync'd prc files with the Palm M100 using the serial port. works fine. Initially, M130 also worked fine with teh USB. But, now we are not able to sync to the M130 at all and it just hangs up on pressing Hotsync button the cradle. And gives an
"Fatal exception error"
and a message which says
"connection to the PC and the Palm device could not be established"

Tried to connect the Palm to other PC's. It detects the USB device and installs it properly but doesn't hotsync. Gives the same error.

If anyone has any information on this, please reply ASAP.

Thanks.

Make sure that in Hotsync Manager you have selected Local USB as the connection type. Just click on the icon in your toolbar; it should pop up a menu to make the selection. You may have to switch every time to the appropriate channel for each device. USB for your M130 and Serial for your M100
