Hi all,
I bought my Lan Global 10/100 CombineIt card on ebay and it works nicely on netBook. Since I wanted to use this on my Linux laptop too, I did some searching and have found that this is supported by axnet_cs driver for Asix AX88190 chipset. And this driver actually worked (with many error messages, but if you don't look at the log you won't notice performance drop or anything). I briefly looked at the source of this driver, though not thoroughly, and it seems that there's much less (if any) "Psion-specific" code than the driver for smc91c92 (which is a chipset used in older Dacom Gold Cards, and this smc91c92 driver has some non-negligible Psion-specific code).
This means that there's some possibility that other cards with AX88190 chipset might work in netBook, though I'm not sure. Unfortunately I don't own such cards, but if anybody out there happen to have one please test to see if it works or not.
Here's a list of the cards I found from the PCMCIA supported card list for Linux:
http://pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net/ftp/SUPPORTED.CARDS
[axnet_cs driver]
AmbiCom AMB8110
Billionton LNA-100B
Buffalo LPC3-CLX, LPC4-TX
CNet CNF301
Corega FEther PCC-TXD
EagleTec ET-LE100BT2
Edimax EP-4101
FEP501 Fast Ethernet
KingMax Fast Ethernet
Linksys NP100 Network Everywhere v2
Linksys PCMPC100 EtherFast v3
Melco LPC3-TX
New Media LiveWire 10/100
Planex FNW-3700-T
Repotec RP-1638
Surecom EP-427X
Topcom Xplorer 2700
W-Linx FE1500
Note that all of these cards are ethernet-only, while 10/100 CombineIt can be upgraded to multifunction with ISDN-or-something (I don't know what) capability. I'm not surprised if the above cards don't work at all. Please don't expect too much ;)
Regards,
Keita
