I have been experimenting by adding new information to the Notes field, or slightly changing other fields, in the Contacts database on my 5mx; then I synchronize again with Outlook and...no change!

It will pick up an entirely new contact and create one in the Outlook Contacts folder, but a slightly changed one???

Now I have exported both into Excel and am doing manual comparisons, noticing that for over two years, the synch has not truly worked!!!

Have you ever downloaded the contacts upgrade from the Psion website? This sounds exactly the behavior that was happening before they issued the contacts upgrade.

I'll try the Contacts upgrade. I saw this a while back and thought b/c it says you need Psiwin 2.3 or 2.3.1 already installed, that my Psiwin 2.3.3 would have already included this update. Anyway, can't hurt to install it and see if it solves the problem...

Thanks, Jim. I tried two of your recommendations (one from an earlier post), so I'm not sure which one did the trick (maybe both) but the synchronization works flawlessly now.

For the reference of any others with synch issues:

- install the Contacts upgrade on Psion even if you have psiwin 2.3.3 (update info says you must have psiwin 2.3 or 2.31...)
- export all your contacts from outlook into excel, then make sure the privacy column is all FALSE, then import back into outlook
