Anyone else out there use this PDA with a cell phone like Sprint PCS. I read that you get a cable that will hook the clie to a cell phone and you can connect to the net with your currect internet provider with no extra cost (just the airtime)

I have a cable that hooks my clie to my computer from the clie to the usb port of my computer. Also this cable has an addapter that I plug the usb und into a cigarette lightet addapter and now it becomes a 12 charger.

Does anyone know if there in an adapter that I can buy to use the same cable to hoock it up to my Motorola Time port phone?

Or maybe an addapter that will go from the usb ent to a serial end, because I do have a cable for my motorola.

Any help would be great.

I recently purchased the cable for the Sony NR70V to my Sprint Sanyo SCP-4700 cell phone ($50 +) Instructions were easy to setup and configure the combo. Its a little bit cumbersome to handle gadgets at the same time but until they come out with something better this will work. Pull up the www.thesupplynet.com for ordering. Its expensive for a little dinky cable so don't be shocked!!

Good luck!

Watch out with thesupplynet. They do not support all Motorola models. For instance they do not suport or work with the Motorolla V60T model used by AT&T.

Hmm, ever considered buying an IR port for your PC so that you can sync via IR?

I have this exact setup that you're referring to: a Motorola Startac (great phone for internet), a Clie NR70V and browse the web often and send e-mail and faxes. Below is the sight for cables at a reasonable cost:

The only other issue is choosing a browser if you want internet access.

Maybe someone can help me. I've purchased a cable through thesupplynet that connects my NR70 to my Motorola v120 (cingular). I have aol service and downloaded aol for palm through the website. I also called cingular to make the phone data-enabled. My goal is to be able to retrieve my aol e-mail through this connection. It does seem to dial the phone to for the aol connection (a 1-800 number) and the cellphone indicates there is a connection, but the pda sends an error message saying "no server found". My other goal is to be able to browse the web. I don't have a web-browser yet- any ideas? After plunking down $49.00 on this cable, I sure would like to see it do SOMETHING! By the way, I have called aol support, and they say they don't support anything like this. The supplynet support people told me that the cable works since it dialed the phone and that I need to call aol. Cingular support people say that they have no idea. So much for support!

I am also having problems connecting my Clie to my Cell Phone (Audiovox 9155). I got the cable from supplynet, and set up the clie as per the instructions. It starts to connect, but gives me a PPP timeout error. I called supplynet and verizon (my service providor) and they suggested a new cable. I got a new cable and it still did not work. I thought it might be the phone, but I went to a verizon store and one of the techs who use their phone for internet connectivity with their laptop let me try his phone (same as mine). it also did not work. The only thing left is the clie. Any ideas on how to configure it correct. I set up tjhe connection as PC and via cradle/cable. I also set it for 19200. The the username is qnc as is the pw. The connection is the one I set up. The script is atdt#777, send CR, Delay 4. It does not work. I really need to get this working.

;) Try this:

user and pw: qnc

connection: cellular

phone: leave blank

under details: connection type: PPP

idle timeout: off / never

query DNS: checked

IP Adress: Automatic

Tap script: choose SEND and type atdt#777

Tap end: choose SEND CR

Tap (again) end: choose Delay and type 4

The last entry should say: END

Hopefully this will help in the configuration!!

I had my Clie NR70 V/U and Sprint cell connected the first time. Try using your ISP settings as a means of connecting also!!

Give me a buzz back!!

That is exactly how it is set up, but it still does not work. I see a lot of others with the same issue with Verizon. Is this a clie issue?

Just spoke to Rob at supplynet. He said that they had been shipping defective cables, and that they will replace mine. I will not hold my breath....
