Palm Portable Keyboard Text Entry Lag

I have a Palm Portable Keyboard. I got it about 9 months ago and installed the drivers that came on the included CD. However, there is a lag between my pressing the key and the text appearing on the screen when I type quickly so that after typing quickly I have to wait a few seconds while my Palm "catches" up and the text appears on the screen. Is there a way around this such as a better driver?

I have a problem with time lag with ppk and IIIC as well, tho improved somewhat with the lastest ppk driver.
