Printing from a 3a

:confused: Can anyone advise me?
I am trying to print a route from the Route Finder. I have followed the PsiWin that I have the Printe Model set to "Printer Via PC" and I have tried both the Serial and File settings in the printer Device, but all I keep getting is "Cannot Find File" message.
I have checked all the connections, I have checked that the optimised driver and fonts have loaded, and that the connection is set correctly.
I still can't get it to print.
Any advice greatfiully received - I have checked the search section without success.

I am a bit confused as the option in a Series 3 device is "Psion Print" not "Printer via PC", which is the option in EPOC machines (S5, Revo etc.).

As far as I remember, the setting for Psion Print remains as "Parallel", not serial or file, though I would have to check this. I also seem to think there are problems using some of the more recent versions of PsiWin for Series 3 printing, so it might help to install PsiWin 1.1 for printing and this will co-exist with PsiWin 2.x in the same PC.

Just to tie the loose ends.

Print via PC on Series 3 machines will only work with PsiWin 1.x or PsiWin 2.2

Version 2.3, 2.3.1, 2.3.2 and 2.3.3 will all display the symptoms that you described earlier.

Have downloaded Psiwin 1.1 as suggested but when I go to print via the PC it says the parameters are incorrect. Any ideas? My 3mx was stolen last week and I am trying to print the data out via the old 3c (pending arrival of an ebay 5mx) just in case....

If so, you then need to go to "Start > Programs > PsiWin", select Psion Print Setup and install the fonts you need in the Psion.

In the 3c, in Print Setup [Psion-Y] for the document you are printing, you need to set:

Printer model... Psion Print
Printer device... Parallel

Does that get you any further forward?

that is exactly what I have done, then when I try to print it gives me this wrong parameters message. Haven't chosen any odd fonts. Which parameters is it referring to I wonder?

Yes just the usual A4 and no headers and footers, but 1" margins.

Yes just the usual A4 and no headers and footers, but 1" margins.Try setting the top and bottom margins back to the default 1.25" and check that the vertical offset for the header and footer is set to 0.5" (even if the document has no header or footer).
