I would suspect that if an encoder was ported to PPC2002, it would crawl, even if running a post-recording conversion from .wav -> .mp3. On the fly record & encode in real time is probably not viable with the current generation of CPU's in PPC devices. On a related note, does anybody know if there is a way to target the .wav sound recordings to be written to CF or SD storage cards? This would alleviate some of the problem in creating long sound recordings. These .wav files could then be moved to a PC for compression/conversion. NoteM is a MP3 voice recorder for PocketPC 2002 http://www.geocities.com/zavorine/wince/mp3.htm FishTank1701 04-18-2003, 12:30 PM Very cool, I stand corrected. It even records directly to storage cards, if you avoid high bitrates. courtr 04-25-2003, 06:15 PM yes, you can target a storage card for the recorded info. If you open a note and go into tools/options. You can set the "Save to:" option for your storage card. A "My Documents" folder will automatically be build the first time you make a recording. The only problem is that when you make new notes it stores them in the root of the storage card. Court PDA Street
