Well, My PalmVx has a broken side panel (the part that holds the stylus...) so I purchased a new TungstenT
I have to say, after a good month of ownership, I really miss the old Unit. The unit is much thicker in my pocket, I find sliding the thing up/down just to write an "extra step", the battery life is much less. I've been looking at the current palmV-like units still sold by Palm but they don't even make a slim hard case anymore. The Current Zire is too small (screen) and has no backlighting. Are there any other Palm-based slim units out there? What about the Sonys? Anyone else feel the same way?

it's to sad that you are not 100% happy with your tungsten:( , I used a palm v long time ago, the only thing I miss about it is the weight. I haven't tried any PDA's from sony, I think they are to big to cary around in your pocket but I don't know for sure...
Maybe the palm m130 would be good for you, I've seen it in a store nearby and it was very light weightd.
Or you could wait until the new handdhelds from Palm comes out and see of anyone of those will be perfect for you! :D

i know exactly how you feel jmatero
I had a Vx b4 I bought my tungstenT. Even tho i love the colour screen and increased functionality of the TT, i miss the streamline professional look of the Vx. The TT looks clunky and cumbersome by comparison and i definately noticed constantly the weight difference in my shirt pocket at work.
I looked at the m515 as an option. it has memory expansion and its shape and weight is almost identical to the Vx. The only thing that dissuaded me from this course was that i wanted to play mp3s and the TT has hi-res, better mini-movie playback.
Still I am happy with TT purchase. That is until the TC comes out making my TT a clunking dinosaur once again :p (kidding)

The SJ22 is almost the same size as the Tungsten T :)
I think.
It's that cheap new colour hires unit from Sony. Relatively new anyway. My friend bought one and we compared them :)

jmatero - The Vx was and still is a GREAT pda. If you miss it, why not just get another one? You can still pick these up on Ebay either used or I think they still have new ones available under the brand name of Cresenda.
Good Luck.

Or you could just get an m500, 505 or 515 which are all better than the V or Vx :P
I like how they come in BLUE and RED too :)
The Sony T665? comes in ORANGE too.. fortunately they didn't have one in stock at the store otherwise I'd be pretty torn between the Tungsten T and the orange clie :)

What really shocks me is how big, thick and bulky the new ones are. I fell in love with the V series because you could put it in your pocket.. even with a hard case... and it was thin and compact. The Sonys are all getting thicker and bulkier, so are the Handsprings and the Tungstens. The other issue is elegance... toy ZIRE looks like a toy... why not another thin, beautiful palm? Many of us don't need color (gimmack that saps juice), voice recorders and mp3s. I feel like the market is being ditched. Maybe Apple will come out with one.

JMatero, you might want to check into the NEW Zire71
New Zire 71
16 Meg RAM,TI OMAP Processor running@200mhz, PALM OS 5.2,Supports SD/MMC cards, Li-Ion Battery, 320x320 Res-16bit COLOR Display, Supports Graffiti 2/JOT, has a Joystick-Like 5way control instead of up & down buttons, I think it may also have a voice recorder/speaker on back. It also has a digital camera built-in.
Its supposed to retail @ around $299, might do everything you want, without the slidy thing.
FYI: T|T is 175mhz, runs on 5.0, no camera, everything else is about the same, I havent seen one in person yet, not sure how it compares to the 'T's size

ok, ok... why can't the ditch the camera and sell it for $179? It would be a lot thinner without the damn camera.
