Everyone has been talking about Expansys, but there is another source of supply for the S7 to netBook upgrade module - POS

http://www.posltd.com/details_series7_upgrade.htm

About £10 more than Expansys, but they do have immediate stock available (confirmed this morning) and also offer a fitting service for "around £25" for those who don't want to tackle the upgrade themselves.

I'm in contact with Ewan Spence from POS, who says he will be happy to answer queries about this item. Post any questions here, and I will pass them on.

here's a question - who's supplying them ;)

LOL!

I just KNEW that would be the first question (I told Ewan as much) and I was pretty sure that you would be the first to ask it, Yan!

Needless to say, lips are sealed on that one.

Whoever it is, I wish they would start producing the 32mb DIMM upgrade as it will surely speed up the delivery date from Expansys and may even reduce the price !!

For sure - in fact the RAM upgrades should be simpler to manufacture 'cos they are just RAM, whilst the personality modules have Flash ROM on board too (bootloader on nB, complete OS on S7).

In theory its the code that is unique to Psion and should be much more tricky to get hold of, but of course they've managed it for the nB module, and who the hell wants to buy an s7 personality module?

I'll have one spare soon if anyone does :D

Expansys told me on Friday that they expect the DIMM RAM modules to in early this week. We shall see.
