Well, this sucks. I've only had my SJ30 for a few days now and already have an issue. My battery indicator is always reading 100 percent. So obviously, I don't know the real status of my battery. Anyone know of an at-home fix for this? I don't want to send it back. Or any suggestions on what I could try? I've tried deleting programs and soft and hard resets (in the event it was a software issue). I tried fully recharging it (when the orange charge light goes out on the bottom) then running gmovie continuously to drain it, but it always stays at 100 percent. The only thing I haven't done is drain it completely, which I'm in the process of doing now. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.:(

Ok, maybe I'm just a little too impatient. The indicator is working fine. It has now dropped to 90 percent. I just couldn't believe that running a movie continously on this thing for an hour and a half has only dropped the battery by 10 percent. Sony's site said doing this will kill the battery in 3 hours. I picked the SJ30 over the T665 for battery life, but I didn't know it was this good (of course half the processor speed and a lack of enhanced IR and MP3 helps). One thing I'd like to know is, has anyone had any battery problems (i.e. not holding as much of a charge) from leaving their CLIE on the cradle/charger as much as possible? I know lithium-ion doesn't have a memory effect, but I'd like to hear it from other PDA owners.

if you're worried about over-charging your clie, don't. you can't because it stops the flow of power to the battery when the battery is full. or at least this is what i was told when i asked a similar question on here.

and like you said, lithium-ion batteries don't have a memory effect. so unlike nickel-cadmium and nickel-metal-hydride batteries, you don't need to drain them before recharging them in order to get the best life out of the batteries. litium-ion batteries live longest when charged regularly and kept at a high power level.

Fugetaboudit. PDAs are just that cool.
