New Version of Active Sync - 3.6

There is a "new" version of MS Active Sync!! I don't know if it's any better or not but it could cure (or create) some problems.
This is the only way I know of (at this point) to get the download. Sorry for the redirect, but MS does not have it available from their webpage yet.

I don't remember even seeing a release about this... very strange, and then why wouldn't it be directly available on the MS site? I'm a bit afraid to try it :-)

I know I looked at the link to see if it was legite and so far it seems to be but, I don't knwo why it's not posted on MS with a direct link.

This is the actual link to the file and it does install as version 3.6. Could this be a quite update??

This link was posted by a MS employee (maybe jumping the gun???) Who knows..oh well it is a risk as with any "new" version. Also I do know for a fact that this site IS a MS download site that is not made readily accessable to the GP.

I downloaded Active Sync 3.6 from the MS site yesterday. The first couple of times I clicked on the supplied link, it didn't work. The third time did work. Version 3.6 seems to cure the problem I had where my E740 would disconnect on its' own using USB cradle after about 10 minutes. It has been hooked up for 8 hours now, with no disconnects! I think it's worth a look!

Download it and install it. I own the Audiovox Maestro/Toshiba e570 and it took care of one of the problems I have! It works fine. Ever since I installed Verizon DSL, My e570 has been disconnecting before the sync is complete or disconnects a few minutes later. Active Sync 3.6 took care of that problem, now I'm connected with no problems!!!
If it worked for the E570, then I'm sure it works for the 310 & 740.

Ok smorrissey you said that you got ActiveSync 3.6 on the MS site? I was on MS Pocket pc website and I could not find ActiveSync 3.6. Where did you find it on the site?

Silly question - what does it do? I was hoping against hope it would maybe now support synching files on storage card. It doesn't, but I can't see anything else it does that 3.5 didn't do?

Actually Active Sync 3.6 is in beta testing. It was never intended to be posted on the microsoft website, but they screwed up, and for about 8 hours the download was available.
There are a few websites that i know have the program, my own website software team was able to download it before it was pulled.

One of the biggest problems that is fixed in version 3.6 is the syncing of large files over 12MB to the Pocket PC.

Got around to trying it today. It seems MUCH more stable with the e740 than 3.5 was.
