What is the advantage of this program, I've never used it before. mmmkay 04-24-2003, 02:34 AM It's been OS 5 compatible for quite some time already :) Though it does seem to be a new version. carlt 04-24-2003, 05:02 AM I've never used a Hack on my old Vx or on my Tungsten. Can anyone explain why I might want one now? leedsie 04-24-2003, 08:35 AM hacks for speed are mighty important if internet video streaming of good quality is to become a reality on palms. aside from speeding up palms, thought it would interest you all to hear that i attempted to overclock my athlon 1700 from 133 to 166 in the bios and its now very ill. clearly it didn't want to become a 2200!! iiicRules 04-24-2003, 01:11 PM It appers the prog doesn't make hacks os5 compatible it just tells you if they'll work or not. Leedsie- I think you can prob overclock you athlon to nearly 2000xp without increasing the fsb can't you? I don't know much about this stuff so i'm not sure..... The most overclocking i've done is my Palm iiic from 20Mhz to 28Mhz! magik 05-11-2003, 02:25 AM thanks for the info IIIc. i've been looking for a good hack manager. hackmaster don't really work on os5. soo sad... let me test out TealMaster  ninelives 05-11-2003, 03:33 AM Originally posted by iiicRules http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?prodID=12167 Teal have just updated and its OS 5 compatible. Check it out iiicRuled i tot palm os 5 don't support hack no more....according to Palm website.. iiicRules 05-12-2003, 07:30 AM some hacks work and teal master tells you if they are os 5 compatible when you install them dr rx 05-12-2003, 09:28 AM Carlt, Mat3d1: There are many hacks for palm OS. They can do all sorts of things. Some hacks increase clock speed as previously mentioned, other hacks can monitor battery life, or 'flip' the screen position so you can more comfortably surf the net, etc....There are many hacks, but alas they do not work on Palm OS 5 without a working hackmaster program (a program that enables/disables the hacks). Tealmaster claims to work, but as read in other posts here, it apparently only seems to allow you to know if the hack is OS 5 compatible or not (is doesn't let older hacks work on the OS 5 format). iiicRules 05-12-2003, 11:16 AM Well not exactly. It DOES let old hacks run on Palm OS 5 but ONLY if they are compatible. Of the ones i've tried about 75% didn't work but some did which was good. THings like overclockers won't work but some system hacks do... That is quite a big jump, if possible you should try to overclock at smaller intervals, maybe 2-3 mhz FSB at a time. Also, do you have adequate cooling, and some type of temperature monitor? Without these I wouldn't recommend that anyone overclock... As for me, I have a T-Bred XP 1700 (1.47ghz 11x133), and it is running at 2.244 ghz (16.5x 135) Some quick math tells me that it is running faster than XP 2800 speeds. With overclocking you just gotta be careful and take it slow.
