I recently began having a problem with Activesync on my Axim. It seems that after disconnecting the pda from my PC, Activesync on the pda hangs. I have to either soft-reset, or go into the Running Programs tab in Memory and tap STOP. Even then, I get a dialog box stating that Activesync isn't responding and to kill it anyway.
This just started happening. Anyone else have this problem? Suggestions?

I have the same thing happen. Since I use the switcher bar, I don't have to go through too many hoops to close it down (soft reset?) - but I do get the message that it is not responding...

I posted this on another board, as well, and it was suggested that it might be a bad registry setting, so I am going to do a hard reset, and reinstall my apps one at a time to see if it happens again. Maybe I'll be able to find the cause.
I had the same problem. Bad news, A hard reset and reloading backup info doesn't get rid of the problem. Reloading the backup only reloads the problem. Any way the only way, unfortunately, to get rid of the problem is to save as much info on your computer, CF, or SD card seperate from "backup" and do a hard reset. From there you can reload all the seperate programs back into the Axim. It took me about an hour to reformat and reload, but it solved the problem.

I have the same problem, if anyone has a solution short of hard reset and reloading programs that would be great.
