Can Microsoft Money 2003 be synchronised with Palmtop Money 1.61
And Can Microsoft Activsync (3.5) be used to connect the Psion to the PC for this purpose
I can only get Psiwin to sync with Outlook
Any ideas or views would be appreciated

Is Palmtop Money a Psion program? Its a new one on me.
ActiveSync is only for use with PocketPC and some Palm devices - it will not work with a Psion at all.
There are banking programs for Psion that can export import to/from MS Money, but I'm not too sure about actual synchronisation - its more use it in one location, then transfer the data file to the other machine, use it there, then transfer it back etc.
Use the forum search feature to find more info about banking/money applications for Psion.
Palmtop Money is a 3rd party Money/Banking Software

Is Palmtop Money a Psion program? The "EPOC" version of Psion Money (for the Series 3) was called Palmtop Money, though what it is called now that Palmtop have changed to TomTom I've no idea - probably Jungle Drums Money :)
You can still access their website with www.palmtop.nl

Can Microsoft Money 2003 be synchronised with Palmtop Money 1.61 Palmtop Money can import and export Quicken .QIF format files which I assume Microsoft Money supports.
I can only get Psiwin to sync with Outlook If you can sync with Outlook, PsiWin must be connecting so all you need to do is transfer the .QIF files (without conversion) between machines.

THE PSION SYNCROS OK I WAS JUST TRYING TO USE THE INFO STORED ON THE PSION 5MX MONEY PROGRAMME (PALMTOP/TOM TOM - MONEY) TO UPDATE THE MICROSOFT MONEY PROGRAMME. BASICALLY I WAS BEING LAZY AND TRYING TO REDUCE THE EFFORT IN GETTING MICROSOFT MONEY UP AND RUNNING - THEN USING EITHER M/C TO UPDATE - IE AS WITH OUTLOOK FOR AGENDA OR CONTACTS
I GET THE IMPRESSION THATY THE 2 ARE NOT FUNDIMENTALLY COMPATABLE

You won't be able to "sync" Money in the Psion with MS Money in the way that you can sync with Outlook. It will be a matter of exporting data between specified dates in the machine which has been updated and importing that into the other machine. You cannot alter data on both machines without getting in a real mess.
For a while I tried running Money in the Psion with Quicken in the PC but it drove me nuts - when I imported data between specified dates from the Psion to Quicken, the account's opening balance was also transferred each time so this had to be deleted. Also, split transactions came across as blank entries so had to be updated manually. I gave up with Quicken and just used the Psion, although it was the Psion Money program that was behaving incorrectly, not Quicken.
The same problem will almost certainly arise with MS Money.
Thanks Mike
It was just a thought, but I will stay with the Psion Money
Cheers
