Time to hear some opinions ...

Once I drop the iPAQ into the docking station it magically turns on, and after a minute, the backlight will turn off ... so I'm not too concerned ... or should I be?

Is there any harm in leaving the iPAQ on all the time, or should I turn it off when I’m not busy synchronizing or copying files. Any ideas, thoughts, or opinions?

Many thanks!

leaving the screen on for long periods of time can burn the image into the screen, but this means leaving it sit for a couple of days

a couple of days

I don't believe this is true... These screens are not like old CRTs that you had to be so concerned about "burn in"... I really don't think you'll do much (any) damage to the screen.

I bought my first iPAQ in July 2000 -- no problem ever with the screen (I still have it) and I did what you describe almost every work day for hours at a time until I bought my next iPAQ in July 2002. I do the same thing with it -- no problems at all. My wife has one too -- again no problem in hers after 16 months with it...

I work computer sales for best buy and our lcd's get burned pixels left and right, from being left on all night. its mostly just one or two pixels on a couple of models, but be warned it can still happen.

One very simple thing few of us know is to push and hold the shutoff button, after 1 or 2 second the screen turns off but the PPC is still running...
Great for battery saving like when listening to music etc...
Hope this helps.
