Just got my T|C yesterday. As a first time Palm user I'm pretty impressed - the WiFi Hotsync and surfing rocks. I have one niggle though:-
The blurb for Documents-to-go and Versamail gave me the impression that I could receive, view and edit WORD and EXCEL documents received by email on the PDA. On closer inspection this doesn't appear to be the case.
Micro$soft pulled a similar stunt with WinCE when it first came out and swore I'd never touch their product again for that very reason (among a gazillion others).
I'll be very disappointed if Palm has followed suit. I used to have an ancient Sharp Zaurus that could handle raw WORD and EXCEL documents emailed to it from a Mac!! So there shouldn't be any good reason why something with the power of the T|C can't do the same.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks

you might want to check into Cutting Edge Software's QuickOffice Premier.
"The new release is the first Palm OS Office suite to include support for native PC-created Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint file formats. Support for native file formats is provided for files saved on expansion storage cards, or those received via infrared beaming, through Bluetooth file transfers, or as email attachments. "
Here's a link to their Website

docs2go is creating a version that also works with native Micro$oft files.
Maybe printing deadlines beat the release date?
Maybe palm will provide free upgrade?
Just my $.02

Thanks guys for the info. I'll hang on to see if Palm releases an update to Docs2Go and if not cough-up for QuickOffice.
Note to Palm lurkers: You can't present products in this way. I swear, I won't even look at PocketPCs or WinCE devices after the same kind of tricks M$ pulled, and I don't think I'm the only user who feels like this. When you read 'Optimized to view, edit and create documents.' under Palm versus 'Optimized to view, not edit or create documents' under PocketPC with M$ Office logos littered over the whole web page, will a first time user really take that to mean the Palm device 'can view, edit and create baby-docs but not the real thing'? And when that first time user discovers the true situation after making a purchase will they put it down to an innocent mistake or mentally chalk one up in the CONS column?

I agree, if palm mis-printed the box and they really thought native support would be availble by release, then the minimum they should have done is dropped an insert in the box.
And better yet do the insert, post notice on their web site, inform resellers, etc. And state that there is a release delay.
If this was not their intention, then they shouldn't have clamed/implied native support (or should have a disclaimer that this feature was additional cost).
Remember they released the T|T WITHOUT audio player, yet this was one of the features they claimed to support. I personally don't know how they informed users/resellers on the T|T audio player delay.
