Search string length

Is it possible to remove the restriction that says a search string is too short and will not be searched for?

I'm in the Jornada board and want to search for the model "780" or I'm in the Psino board and want to search for the model "5mx."

There is no other word/string that defines these specific models (as opposed to 720, 3a etc.). Allowing these short search strings would make things easier.

I can see the logic of the system working this way, and I can't envisage it being changed, but I agree that it's pretty frustrating. I can't think of any workaround, really. Adding a wildcard might help in some cases, but it's no solution.

Anyone got any clever search trickery?
