Ok I have the 957 and it works great never had any problems with it. I got it two weeks ago however its refurbished and the backlight does not turn on at all unless you press fairly hard on the lcd screen. I'm so frustrated with this and the last thing I want to do is buy another or wait a month for a replacement. So i'm thinking since pressing on the lcd screen seems to activate the backlight then if I were to open it up and either move up or down its iternal components or maybe get the loose contact or whatever is causing the backlight not to light back in its place it would be fixed. I've searched high and low on the internet for schematics of the 957's internal components or any information on the backlight and came up with squat. Anyone here have a service manual for the 957 or have any ideas?

Going inside the unit will void your warranty and keep you from getting Technical Support. I suggest going to the place that you purchased it from and getting them to repair it. Ask them for a loaner in the meantime, since it's only been two weeks since you bought it.

Well its the aol mc to be more specific hehe however i dont have a warranty on it it a refurbish item so i decided rather then wait the month it would take for a replacement with no loaner device or pay for a new one if i can get the device open i'm pretty sure i can fix it and if not i'll just buy another rather then wait for a replacement. Anyone experianced with backlight issues for the device or quick fixes etc?
You HAVE been pressing the silver on/off button to activate back-lighting haven't you?
