how can I make my mobile pro 880
sincronize via usb instead of serial
what changes should I make to the registry in order that the direct connection will see also the usb as a connection option?

As far as I am aware, there's nothing you can do. The USB port on the MP8XX is only for connecting accessories like a mouse, but I read somewhere on the NEC site (maybe in the PDF manuals?) that the USB port cannot be used for syncing.

Sure would be nice, but...since you can't, I would use the next best thing: Ethernet.
