Found a neat website that has the Bible for my EM-500. The search function works, but I can't seem to find any way to put wildcards in. It's not in MS-Reader, so it's faster.. yippee!
The best part is that it's free! I love free software!

I also use the Olivetree Bible reader. As far as I know, ther is NO wildcard function in the search option. I have also checked the on-line manual and it does not mention wildcards. Although, up to now, I have never really had a reason for wildcards. you may send a request for it in future version of the Olivetree reader. Hope this helps you out.

Don't want to knock olivetree - have it on three units so love it, but you might want to watch http://www.crosswire.com as they are getting into pocket stuff and have more resources availble.

They don't have wince as yet but do have some other systems for pdas.

HI looked at the crosswire website, but everything is under construction.

ARe you sure you sent me to the right place?

I use wildcards for things like sheep or sheeps.. etc. My amplified Bible actually has a lot of these, so I normally just use that to find things, but it would be nice to have it in the Olivetree version. Maybe I'll send them a recommendation.

Try MobiPocket Reader. It has practically all the functionality one may look for. You also have a VERY wide selection of free ebooks & bibles.

It can also handle html files with ease.

I didn't see any links for downloadable bible's on the crosswire.org website. Can you help?

I'm looking for either an New American Standard, Amplified, or a Recovery edition (with notes from either Witness Lee or Watchman Nee (www.watchmannee.com) - dunno).

Anyone have any info?

Try this link - it is another site for the esword. this is the download page.

http://www.e-sword.net/downloads.html

Haven't seen any of the Nee books. NASB will cost you no matter where you find it. It is under strong copyright and they won't allow any freebies. There is an ASV on olivetree or the esword that is free and it is what the NASB is based on. The asv is actually a little more accurate translation than the NASB. The NASB was done to make the ASV more readable.

No problem!

Couple of sites you might find of assistance if you do much bible study.

http://www.bible.org
http://www.thedericksons.com

Lots of different sorts of Bible study materials. The last one has some info for ppc and would guess the other one may or will in the future. The bible.org has a bible that goes in with olivetree bible program that has a lot of good notes with it.

It is a new translation. The site contacted publishers to get permission to use some of the newer translations on their site and were told no so he got bunch of scholars together and they did a new one. the ppc version used to be 24, but they used to have it online for net use.

Hi again exscentric,

I really appreciate all of the links... but I'm not sure that I'm ready to pay for the NET version. I am currently using the Modern King James Version (from olivetree) and that works pretty well. I tried the Young's Literal.. but it doesn't function correctly. From what I've read so far, the amplified, while it may not always always be the easiest to read, it does seem to have the most complete meanings.

I checked out www.thedickersons.com - but I'm a little leary about the teachings/notes that he has.

Being a newer Christian, I'm really trying to take the Word for what it is ...and after reading the Word, I see that a lot of what we have today in Christianity is incorrect. For example, the thing they talk about in either Timothy or Titus.. keeping the unity. But, I see a whole bunch of churches on all of the streets... and it just doesn't line up. And when I read in the dickersons study notes that a person should try to find a baptist church, I see a division. And we know that a house divided cannot stand.

So, anyway, I guess since I'm new, when I do see a problem, I don't have the maturity to go through and check all of it right now - so I just go back through the Bible and dissect things from what I see.

Sorry about that! It's just really been on my heart lately!

Hi Ricardo!
I read you reply to 'exscentric' & am encouraged by your desire to "go back through the Bible and dissect things from what I see".
I commend that spirit & urge you to con't doing that.
I agree with you about the disunity among the churches that we have been witnessing in our days. I'm almost sure that the Lord is grieved by the sight of it cos' He prayed in John 17 that "we might be one, just as He and the Father are one."
I'm personally convinced that one of the greatest challenge to the worldwide Christian community is the unity of the Body.
But, we should con't to keep "our head" in all situation & con't to walk with the Lord & seek His strength & wisdom to help unite the Body together & not be a part of the problem.
So, press on & may the Lord bless you & keep you in His grace & love & may you be used mightily by Him to bless the Body of Christ whereever He places you!
Shalom!

Hi Ricardo!
You can try the Laridian Pocket Bible Trial version which comes bundled with the KJV NT Bible. It doesn't have a limit to it's usage but that's all you will have....I'm running a full version & reading the NIV Bible.
There's a promotion at their website & they are giving away a Bible Concordance for every purchase...think it cost about US$19.
Can give it a try & bottom line....if you want the best things in life, it has gotta cost you something. :p

Someone agrees with your comments on sticking to the Word.

From: http://www.thedericksons.com/d05900.htm

"Think about the things that we have spoken of in this study. Chew on them. Put them on the shelf awhile - then think and chew some more. As an old timer once told me, "Chew and spit." Look this information over and consider it and refine it and then when you are sure that you are on Biblical ground begin to act on the conviction that the Lord has set in your mind and heart."

To put a passage with it take a look at Acts 17.10-11

Question ALL teaching in relation to the Word.
