Well, I just bought a new 256mb SD card. Since I don't have a CF card, I was considering trading my 128mb SD card for my co-workers 128mb CF card. How much am I losing out on this deal? To me, being able to use 128mb more space at the same time that I'm using my 256mb card will be nice, but I know that SD is more expensive than CF.

Thoughts, comments?

Go for it if you feel you won't need any more than 256MB on the SD card in the foreseeable future and have to buy another. (I surely wouldn't). You'll get and additional 128MB of CF storage, not really for free, but without having to buy a CF card. I use a CF card to store maps for my NAVMAN GPS system. SD won't work for that.

Why can't you use SD for storing maps? just wondering.

I think I've confused you a little here without a more in depth reply to your post....you CAN store maps to SD format, but you can't use them with a GPS navigation system. Those have to be in CF format. If you'd like to keep maps for a static reference on directions within your hometown or another city on SD, it'll work fine. You'll need Microsoft Pocket Streets, Mapopolis or another similar program in order to run them, however. GPS navigation systems give you directions AS YOU DRIVE; Pocket Streets and like programs can't do that.
