I've heard that there are software packages out there that enable you to scan for available wireless networks. People use this software for a variety of reasons, but I would like to use it to help determine the vulnerability of some of my wireless clients. Is there a software package that does this? Anyone have any opinions on this? TIA

I think netstumbler might be what you are looking for. Here is a link to where you can download it. Hope this is what you are looking for.

Now, don't be using it for any illicit purposes and stay away from my wireless network:D

Unfortunately, it would appear that the PocketPC 2002 version has a far longer list of wireless adapters that it won't support, than those that it will. Seems like the developers should have put a little more effort into this before releasing it to the PPC world.

For scanning for wireless routers and access points - Pocketwarrior Click here (http://www.pocketwarior.org)

And if you like ethereal (packet sniffers) - Airscanner Mobile Sniffer Download Here (http://www.webattack.com/get/pocketpc/airscanner.html)

Both Free to the public. Download, scan, and be merry!
