My screen is on its way out, lines all over the place. Does anybody know of one available for a Palm III, and is it easy to replace.

First take off the back of the unit and reseat the ribbon cable connection on the left hand side. (With front of the unit facing down) A loose cable could be the source of your problem.

It's not too difficult to replace a screen. You can find step by step instructions at gethightech.com

They also sell screens, as do people on eBay.

In the III series the stylus runs into the ribbon cable and makes for a bad connection. I found a sterile saline solution packed in single dose plastic ampoules. These clear plastic dispensers are made of a very rigid plastic and the cylindrical portion of the dose dispenser is a perfect fit in the silo. I cut about a half inch section out of the cylinder and with the Palm back off wedged the cylinder into the silo putting continuous pressure on the cable/connector. Then a couple drops of Crazy glue and on goes the back and away goes the problem. The Palm original stylus is a tight fit but the LandsWare Stylus is at home.
