I am an environmental graphic designer (sign designer) using Mac OSX 10.2.5, iCal and Mac address book, and iSync 1.0 to sync with my Zire71. I plan on using the Zire71 for quick site photos. I need to download these photos to the Mac in order to create scale images (saves me from making diagrams at the site).
When synching with HotSynch, the photos from the Zire71 were automatically placed in a folder: Hard drive/Users/Kevin Collins (my Mac user ID)/Pictures/Palm Photos/Kevin Collins (my Palm device ID)/then into either Expansion Card or Handheld. This is exactly as the manual suggests. Worked fine.
After installing iSynchPalm (necessary in order to synch the Apple apps), my photos no longer download.
Neither Apple or Palm had any record of this problem being reported. Naturally, Apple says this is a Palm problem, and Palm says this is an an Apple problem.
Anybody out there with the same problem? I am thinking I should just go out and buy an SD card reader, but the reason I bought the Zire71 was to keep things simple.
As a side note, I've been having some trouble synching iCal. One time it made multiple copies of all my calender entries. It took a while to clean it all up. I figured I did something wrong. This time I'm going to keep the faith, but if it happens again I'm going to have to pitch iSynch and the iSynchPalm conduit and just go straight Palm OS or pitch the Palm and find something more suitable for the Mac!
