Zire 71 Backlight

I had a chance to play with one at the local Staples. I like the operation and feel. My question is can the backlight be turned off completely? I didnt have a whole lot of time to go through all the menus. By holding the power button down normally you can turn on/off the backlight. ANyone know?
Secondly, with the new desktop application, will my M125 still be able to connect with it smoothly?
Thirdly, is it really fast? I have been trying to use the Acrobat PDF viewer. I carry rather big volumes for work, but find the program too slow to be useful. Anybody use PDF viwers out there?

It is not possible to completely turn off the backlight as far as I know. However, I believe it can be dimmed.

You should have no problems using both the Zire 71 and m125 with the new software. Just make sure that you use different usernames for them.

The Zire 71 is blazing fast compared to my m125. Applications open in an instant. It almost feels like the programs are already open and I am just bringing them to view.
