Has anyone else has problems with 128mb SanDisk memory cards. This is my second one to have problems with. Shortly (2 weeks) after I start using the card my Ipaq states that I am utilizing 85+ mb when I have 20mb +/- 2mb actual usage. I would like to reformat the card, but I can not figure out how. I am using Ipaq 3955, WinXP Pro, USB cradle, and ActiveSync 3.6.

I had the same problem with my sandisk 128 MB SD card. I solved it using a program called Storage Tools (by Soft Winter). I ran a scan for disk errors. When it was done dozens of files showed up in explorer that had numbers as file names. I then was able to delete these files and my SD card has been fine since (at least in this respect). I actually had to do the process a few times because the program seemed to get hung up on the number of disk errors. Went from reported 110 MB in use to 21 MB in use (the true number).

Because of other problems (lockups, etc), I ended up replacing the Sandisk card with a Lexar media card. It locks up only occasionally (compared o frequently with the Sandisk card).

Hope this helps

I am using the Sandisk 256MB SD. I also have the Toshiba 128MB SD card. Neither card has given me any problems. Early on I reformatted each to FAT32 and 1KB cluster size (using FlashFormat 2.51). That might explain why I've not experienced any problems so far.

Try using your PDA's built in diagnostic test on the card.

I now use a program called Stroage Tools which finds and repairs problems. Finally, all is well...
