Hi
Im in the UK.
Im also not massively techie so please be gentle :) .
Im about to buy a 5450, this decision at least Im happy with.
I have a couple of questions though about its functionality.
1) If I choose to interface with my Orange network mobile phone to pick up POP3, (not currently Bluetooth but about to upgrade), am I right in thinking I need their monthly GPRS package too to pick up mail on a pocket pc using Bluetooth?
If I use my phone company as my ISP via GPRS then I should still be able to pick up POP3 from an email account other than theirs cant I? (I have my own domain registered which is my main email address).
Oh, and if I choose to have GPRS activated all the time, then I'll only be charged for any data I actually use wont I? Specifically I can get the PPC to seek for mail on a regular basis but if nothings their I will incur no cost - unlike dial up?
2) WiFi on the 5450.......
I have a netork at home running ADSL on a router. I plan to attach a wireless access point to this which will allow me to roam at home with a PPC.
But what about wireless access I have read about at places like Starbucks and stations? How does this work? Is it free or do I have to pay for it, if so is it (relatively) secure for me to access personal emails when I am out and about?
Thanks for your patience.
