So, I know that the iQue comes with either North America City Select (http://www.garmin.com/cartography/mapSource/cityselect.jsp) or City Select Europe (http://www.garmin.com/cartography/mapSource/cityselectEuro.jsp) (depending on where you buy it), but what about detailed coverage and having the iQue route for you in Australia? Looks like the options are either MetroGuide Australia (http://www.garmin.com/cartography/mapSource/MGAustralia.jsp), which I believe requires a PC to create the routes you then download to the iQue, or City Navigator Australia (http://www.garmin.com/cartography/mapSource/citynavAUS.jsp) (much more expensive), which MIGHT allow the iQue to route for you. Can anyone confirm this or shed anymore light on how the various Garmin map CD-ROMs work specifically with the iQue?

Thanks!

Garmin has been excellent in answering e-mail questions. Go to Garmin's web site and click "Contact Us" and pose your question to them. You should hear back in a business day. Give us the results, I am curious as others would be I am sure.

BTW, I e-mailed the other day and they re-confirmed late June to vendors.

Cheers,
Caleb

Just a followup to let you know that I haven't received any reply from Garmin about this question. I had also contacted them about Macintosh compatibility (which is sorely lacking on all of their previous units) hoping that I'd be able to use my Mac without having to run Virtual PC just to download maps, and I've not gotten any reply to that question either. Sigh.

King, unfortunate that Garmin hasn't responded. The North American Map Source program is only PC compatible so you are probably going to be relegated to running the PC emulator. I don't believe that Garmin supports MAC with any of their software so, at least based upon surfing their web site.

It may be interesting to see how some of the other programs may work in conjuction (or not) with the GPS unit. Perhaps you could use Mapapolis or some other mapping software.

If you like - keep looking here and once I have my unit I'll probably try Mapapolis with the unit just because I'm a registered user.

That still won't help your Mac issue though?
