I didn't see a full explanation, but it appears that you may have decided upon a compromise solution that may be reasonable. Although ideally a separate board for each unit type is most user-friendly, separate forums for each series (e.g. Palm III) I believe is acceptable. Perhaps some indication shown on each post/thread could be given denoting which Palm III unit the thread refres to, may also be possible from your systems point of view.
