I just purchased an iPaq 3950 and Navman 3450. I was hoping to be able to collect coordinate point data into a db program that would allow additional attribute info to be added in a form. Does anyone have experience getting gps coordinate data into a Visual CE form? What is the call to the Navman? Visual CE says it can read NMEA signal from a gps, but how is it coded in the form? Any help would be appreciated before I return the unit.

Hi geodba,

I use the NAVMAN "GPS 3400 VOICE" on my iPAQ 3970 and it works great. (I use it in Europe)

I just type in where I want to go and it directs me. Sometimes though it wants to send me somewhere else but it will notice this and will re-direct you.

My answer probably wasn´t much help but I wanted to post my opinion.

You've got a NAVMAN 3450? I just ordered one (not here yet-backordered in U.S.) based on glowing reports from various GPS reviews. However, those reports were based on the 3420. I can't find any information on how the 3450 differs from the 3420 other than that it has a port for an external antenna. Are you aware of any software updates to this version? Thanks in advance for any input.

Yes; all the info on the Navman site regards the 3420 series. GPS Passion doesn't offer any additional information either. Oh, well, I'll just wait and be pleasantly surprised. Thanks for your reply though.

I just got in to the office and checked: I have a 3420, not a 3450. I still can't figure out how to make a software call to read xy corrdinates in code. Any help still appreciated.
