I bought by 3835 and a CF Expansion + in 11/02. In 1/02, it started thinking that the Exp Pak battery was dead - even though it was freshly charged. Then I started seeing screen jitters, followed quickly by a pink screen lock-up. Compaq help talked me through a hard reset (which they discuss like it's as easy as changing your shorts - but it's more like changing your gender), but the problem repeated. They finally replaced my CF Exp+, and the problem went away - until this past weekend.
Same stuff, different day, same solution - a new pak is on its way to me.
Am I the only lucky one to be having this much fun? Not that I don't love reloading all of my software and settings every few months, but this is crazy!
Also (and here's where maybe I'm the idiot...), I back up my IPAQ reqularly via ActiveSync. But the only times I've needed to use what's in back up are times like these when the unit's been hard reset, and in these cases, it doesn't work because it sees doesn'tr recongnize the IPAQ as being the one that was backed up - so I reload everything. Am I missing an opportunity to restore a unit via ActiveSync after a hard reset?
Thanks (I still love my IPAQ...)
