I've been trying to beam from my T615 to my husband's N Series Clie without success. Both have beam receive "on," I'm not trying to beam any locked files, the units are 4-8 inches apart. When I beam, I get nothing. When my husband beams, his unit says "searching, etc.," but then he gets the "cannot find" message. Any help would be appreciated.

Do a soft reset on your SONY.

Yeah, reset(soft) both clies, then make sure there are no odd conditions(i.e. ir port pointed in wrong direction, low battery power...)
To soft reset just use a pin or unscrew the stylus and poke the little hole in the back of the clie.

If you use some overclock software (QuickBit, FastCPU) , please OFF that software.
Then SoftReset

and try again.

I have sold Clies for about 3 years now and i have noticed one minor flaw in many of the sonys. They do not want to receive directly out of the box. I have many customers who return with the problem so now i tell them just when they get everything setup exactly how they want it, reset it once and you will be fine. It has worked 100% of the time.

We did a soft reset on both Clies and the beaming went without a hitch. Thanks for the great help!
