IPAQ screen Brightness

My IPAQ 3650 dims out of the brightness mode once in a while. Has anyone heard of a fix for this problem and where I can get it?

It's a feature of pocketpc, go to Start-Settings-System-Backlight, there's an option to turn off backlight automatically after a period of idle time to save battery, adjust it to suit your need. Also if the brightness level is set to automatic, it will adjust itself according to external light level, again make change to suit your need. Finally once the backlight is off, you can press and hold the power button for about 2 seconds, the backlight will come back on.

I'm glad you've brought this up, I thought it was just me and I was looking through this forum to see if I could find out why I am having backlight problems.

I have an Ipaq HP3970. Every now and then when I turn it on, the backlight is off (I always have it set to on, on both external and battery power). I then cannot see what I am doing to turn it back on as I have set my Ipaq up so that I need a password to get in, out comes the torch or I have to stand by a window to see what I am doing to put the password in.

However, after reading what the other person has written about holding the power down for a couple of seconds to turn the backlight on, it explains why the backlight turns off too. I realise now that sometimes when I turn my Ipaq on, I must hold it down too long, which in effect turns off the backlight. Now I can easily turn the backlight on and off by holding down the power button, problem solved.
