After playing Zap!2016, I had to reset. Then I got a Fatal Alert on the Clie: "Can not open sort database."
Following Sony's unhelpful advice, I uninstalled and reinstalled intellisync lite. As soon as i pressed the hotsync button, I would get an error message: "Hotsync Problem: Unable to initiate HotSync operation due to system error."
I did a hard reset and hotsynced again. It went a ways through the hotsync, but after I accepted the changes of the date book (syncing with Outlook), it immediately showed the error "Intellisync for Sony Clie: Unable to write or update application data."
Please help!
Thanks,
Judy

I had the same problem 2 years back.... I had a palm III then.... Anyways, I called PALM and told them the problem. The guy told me to completely uninstall my palm desktop including the registry. Reboot the puter. Install the palm desktop again and I can hotsync again. Try and let me know....

Sounds like a plan. Give the link below a quick read before you start your removal/reinstall.

Thanks! I'll try it. I wrote to Sony, and they said to go to MS Gate to remove the DB file associated with the application that crashes the hotsync. BUT, when I try to open MS Gate, it says
"Handheld Full: The data storage of the handheld is full." And when I press "OK" it doesn't open MSGate, but instead goes back to the main menu.
Aargh!

This was my third message to Sony that they responded to:
question: I am getting a Fatal Alert: Can not open sort database. This occurs after I hotsync. The hotsync gives me:"Intellisync for Sony Clie: Unable to write or update application data", then I get another hotsync error, and hotsync ends, then I get the above fatal alert on my clie, and have to reset. What should I do?

I'm so happy to report a functioning CLIE!!
I redid a hard reset (which I had been doing wrong). I followed the uninstall reinstall instructions for the Palm desktop, and I'm back in business!
Thank you so so so much, friends!

Judy,
You are in good company as regards doing the Hard Reset improperly. Many of the emails I receive state they have done a hard reset and I am timid to present the correct method for fear that I will irritate them if in fact they have done it correctly. I'm glad to see your success has made you a more knowledgeable owner and happy Clie user.

Thanks, friends,
So, should I pass on Zap, or do you think I could have done a simple soft reset without problems? Do many have problems with a game like this?
(It sure was a good game...)

Hello! Sorry for the late post...

I have ZAP2016 in my clie N760 for about 6 months now and I never have any problems.... Did you know that you have to free minimum 600KB space before playing?

Did not know--this will probably help.
Many thanks,
