Anyone ever had this problem with a pda? I bought a Zire 71 and a Panasonic 128M SD card. I loaded up some stuff to the SD card using a card reader. I've taken the SD card out of the Zire about five times. Now the Zire will not recognize the card. Card Info keeps saying there is no card inserted. Can't even try a format. But if I put that Panasonic card into my digital camera it works fine and it works fine in the card reader. Anyone have any ideas what's going on? Thanks.

...have you tried a soft reset with the offending card inserted.

That sometimes seems to iron out these little buggers.

It can't be that the card is at fault, because it works in your camera. So, somewhere the card and the Palm developed a slight animosity. Sometimes a soft reset with the card in the Palm can restore their friendship.

Hope this works.

Thanks for responding. I did try a soft reset with the card in the Zire. Didn't work. Even tried a hard reset with it in and out. I'll just have to get another card and pray it doesn't happen again.

I bought a Zire71 yesterday. It works well with my Panasonic 128MB SD. Althought I've to reformat the SD using the Zire in order to let RealOne Player to access all MP3 files stored in the SD card, they works perfectly well together.

I have a Lexar 128MB SD which was used on a PocketPC. It would not accept it until I formatted it with the Zire. I think I read somewhere that the Palm can't read the cards formatted with Windows.

BTW, on a different topic, I bought a 256MB SD card a while back. It seems that SD Readers and Windows end up ruining the cards after a few days for me. After this happens, the card has to be thrown away as it is unwritable. Anyone else have this happen?

No problems for me yet. I have a 256MB Lexar card, made by Panasonic. I also use a Lexar 7-in-1 reader.

Best Buy has a great deal going right now on the SanDisk 256 SD. I bought a Zire 71 the other day and wanted some extra storage. They had it marked down to the same price as the 128. Then there is a $15 main in rebate. Puts it down into the $65-$69 range. Works great in the Zire 71. Recognizes it right away.

I can't remember where I read it, but Lexar does not manufacture their open SD cards. My 128MB card was made by SanDisk; the 256MB card was made by Panasonic. Use the Zire's Card Info function to see who made your card.

I have a 32MB SD card and it works fine but it is WAY WAY WAY too small:(. I hope to buy a 128MB SD card. Does anyone know where you can get good quality ones for cheap?:)

Try finding one on the net. I here Amazon is a good place to start. Picked up a Lexar 256 $80 at CompUSA after my Panasonic problem. But the Zire reads it as a Panasonic. I have my fingers crossed.

I got on eBay and found a 128MB Lexmark.

If I don't win the auction then I will go to Amazon.
