I dropped my IIIxe recently rendering it useless. I bought a new 105 and I do NOT know how to get 3rd party data on my new 105, such at 4tnox data. The applications are all there, but not the data. All my contacts/calendar/etc sync'd just fine since I did a desktop to handheld override. HELP!!! I really need this data on my Palm - where is it on the PC and how do I get it on my palm???????

Lets look at two issues:
1) The Palm III which you say is "rendered useless." Please describe what the actual damage is. Is the screen broken, etc.?

2). I am not familiar with "4Tnox". Can I assume this is a Palm security application?
If you loaded the application from your PC to the old Palm and did not delete the original file for the application form your PC after loading it to the palm then it should still be on your PC. Use the "File Folder Find" function and wild cards to find the application and reload to the new palm. Example " *4t.* " to find any files related to 4tnox.

Give me some clarification and detail and I'll be happy to assist you in accomplishing what needs to be done.

DrMud:

Thanks very much for the help!

1) The IIIxe was dropped, the screen is cracked and it does not respond to anything that requires using the screen. The actual "buttons" still work, but it will not recognize anything using the screen such as the pen or pressing OK or snooze for a reminder or trying to search on a contact. So, the data is still there, but it's not functional. On a few occassions, I was able to press VERY hard on the screen and sometimes get it to respond, but most recently it would not even do that.

2) 4T Nox is a 3rd party security shareware application. I have a PDF file that is instructions/user manual, it's not that big and I could email it to you if you don't mind or have time.....it says there is a fnox.pdb file, but I can't locate it anywhere on the PC. The only fnox.* file I can find is fnox.PRC which is the application - correct??? Your supposed to be able to export from and to memopad, but I can't do an export due to the Palm being messed up.

The fnox.pdb file is the data file that stores your personal code. It should be in your Palm/user ID/Backup folder on the PC. It may also be hidden. Is your PC set to "show hidden and system files"?
Can you simply install 4tnox on the new palm fresh or does that preclude you from accessing previously encrypted memo files.
Will the Palm III still hotsync? If so rename the backup file in your palm folder. Do a hotsync with the old Palm and that will dump the 4tnox.pdb into a new backup folder where you can retrieve it and install to the new Palm on the next hotsync. Change the folder names back before the next sync.

PS: Send the file.
Also your Palm sounds like only the digitizer is broken not the actual screen. More on tha later.
