I’ve been thinking.. Ya it does suck to have all the old info just thrown away, was it wrong? Maybe but now we have to deal with it. That’s what freaking family is about! Everything isn’t always done the way you would like it to be, and sometimes mistakes are made! I’ve been a “shadow” member for awhile now (I never joined but read this forum daily) and from what I see the “Old timers” should be sticking around and helping out. That’s were all the knowledge is at!!! By people sticking around and makeing sure that the knowledge isn’t lost, is what will make this forum greater than all the rest! (As the theme song to “Brave Heart” plays in the background) LOL the sword has bin thrown, what side will yall be on? Are yu going to take ownership of this forum and make it great? Or are you going to bail?
Wow was that deep or what! I got all misty eyed!

Greetings;
Ya got me all misty eyed man, Everything you said was right on the money. I'm glad to see that you , as a past "shadow" member, have registered and posted. Every member old and new has something to offer to this board and I'm glad that you have taken the challenge. I hope that more people are like you and step over to the ownership side of the sword, great analogy man. If you look on the Who's Online page you'll see that there are 20 members and 268 guests using this board. If all the guests would register look at all the information that could be tapped into. I'm sure that some of the guests are old users that haven't made up thier minds yet.
Me I'm here for the long haul.:D

Guys, thanks for the support.
You know, while PDA street is owned by a corporation, it is managed by people who care. It is a job for us but we do this kind of work because we do like the work with people and information. I don't want to get all sappy but it has to do with something about valuing truth and working toward increasing the amount of knowledge in the world.
We have to make choices in how we proceed and as anyone who works with technology knows, there are always trade-offs. If we had stuck with the old boards, we would not have been able to provide a lot of the features in the new software that will foster community. Those of us who were involved in the transition tried to solve the problems of the break -- it just wasn't feasible.
But I think you'll see we are listening and trying to come up with solutions. See the thread I started Permanent home for the old forum knowledge.
The bottom line here is that I truly believe the new software will help make this a better place to share knowledge.
