I have a m515. Wife got a Tungsten T from work (had m505). Ever since the upgrade of our desktop, I have been unable to install some applications (some small ones work) and have trouble losing connection during some hotsyncs (but not always). Palm has escalated the service call after we hard reset and hotsynced to "test" user with no third party programs and still have the same problem. The Tungsten seem to be working, but during all this I lost my two most used programs (ePocrates and My Bible) and cant get them to reinstall. Any suggestions, I used ePocrates daily in my work and Bibles also. My guess is that the install and hotsync conduits are corrupt, but attempt to reinstall the desktop didnt seen to help, either. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
Maybe this may help...
I had similar problems with installing applications. The USB hotsync would timeout and fail when installing anything over 400k. It was more likely to fail when installing to the card rather than main memory. Using a serial cable to hotsync worked fine with any file size.
This was actually caused by the PC not being fast enough (I had a P133) and causing the timeouts. I have since upgraded my PC and the problems have gone away.

Dear CaptainIgnorant
Thank you more than you will ever know. It didnt work out exactly like you said, but it provided the idea to find the problem. I have a new 1.9ghz. P4 with XP-Pro so it isnt speed. I do however have a 4 way USB expander. It plugs into the PC and gives me 4 USB outlets instead of just the one. It however, was the problem. I merely routed my HotSync Cradle directly into the PC USB port and Voila. Thank you again.

Hope this helps anyone else with a similar problem and thank you for all the replies and suggestion.

A USB hub!
Must not be fast enough. Haven't heard of this sort of problem before but it is something to note for later reference.
I am glad you have solved your problems.
It is quite frustrating when things don't work how they should.
