Is there a product that will give me the ability to use any keyboard/mouse/monitor to use the Axim, without installing software on the machine I am connecting to?
Ex:
I am out of town, and would like to "connect" to any computer to access file on my Axim, without installing software.
Is this possible?
Thanks,
Rich

I can read... Your post DID say you didn't want to install any software, but I don't know if you can get away with that unless you are using Win XP.
If you don't have any other way to do what you want, here's another option.
What I have done is to download a zipped copy of ActiveSync to a SD card that I then throw into my Sandisk Cruiser and load on to the new host PC when needed. If you grab a big enough SD card (or CF and a different adaptor for that matter) you still have plenty of room for data.
Good luck!

The most basic connection I can think of is to use the $19.00 axim RS-232 cable connected to a host PC via its RS-232 port.
Under these conditions, you don't even need a windows powered PC, only an RS-232 terminal program running on both the host and the AXIM. (Most PCs come equipped with at least one RS-232 port, and most also include some type of terminal emulation software). On the AXIM side, vxhpc is an excellent terminal emulation software package (www.cam.com).
Once connected, you can then use any number of file transfer protocols to acess files to and from the AXIM (kermit, xmodem, etc).
The above setup seems to be the most universal connection method I can think of.
