Anyone know how to create a template for notes?

Thanks in advance...

The September 2002 issue of PocketPC Magazine has an article explaining exactly what you are asking. I believe it was under the Tips & Tricks section. It doesn't appear to be available to view on the web yet, and I don't have the magazine with me. It's pretty easy to do but I think the article can best explain how to do it. I'll post a summary of the article next week if you cannot obtain the magazine.

Thanks for posting the link DScott. I visit their site often. The reason that I had said "It doesn't appear to be available to view on the web yet" was because not all recently published PPCmag articles are available for viewing on the web. They want you to buy the magazine. You usually have to wait a few months to view more of the articles in the issue.

Greetings

ScottC PPC mag is a great rag it always has software and hardware reviews that mean something. They have a game section that always has freeware links. The comparision chart for PPC's is awsome, great to make an informed decision when purchasing. I have purchased every issue for the last year or so, I don't have a subscription because it gives me a reason to goto Barnes&noble for Coffee.

But you already knew this

Sorry for the delay.

Creating a Notes template:

( Transcribed from PocketPC Magazine September 2002 issue: Quick Tips & Tips, p.81)

1.) Open a new Note and make the modifications to it. If you want a certain header on your notes, smaller lined view etc. (default Blank note view is 200%).
2.) Tap the OK button to save the note. ( note: you must make some change to the new note other than just screen percentage, otherwise the note will not be saved. Drawing a line then deleting etc.,will save the note.)
3.) After taping OK the note will be saved as Note1, Note2, etc.. Tap and hold the name of the note and select Rename/Move...from the drop-down menu. A dialog box pops up allowing you to change the name and where it's stored.
4.) Give the note a recognizable name and move it to the Templates folder. Tap OK.
5.) Finally, to make it your "New" Notes default, from the Notes list view , tap Tools/Options. Select the template you just made from the Default template drop down list and tap OK.
6.) Now when you start a new Notes file, the note you created will be the default.

Personal note: To hide your template from the Notes standard list, change the attributes of the template to Hidden/Read-only. (I used Resco File Explorer )

Have fun.
