Ok, so I was looking for a program to install pictures on jpg and I fould an app called "Pilot Install".

When I went to add an app to my palm I am getting a different screen which is from this program. I am not getting the usual palm install window that I ususlly get. Please explain how I can get the old window back after I click on the app to add on winzip, thanks.

I deleted the pilot install thing, and now the desktop is saying that is cannot locate the file. I want it to just go to the normal install.

Here is the screen shot. The one on the left is what is coming up when I try to install a program. The one on the top right is the one I want to come up after clicking on a thing on winzip, I don't know how to get it back.

It should have just posted the picture, why do you have to download it? I know how these boards work, what a dumb format, in other forums the picture would just come up, it was in jpg, let me try again.

Leave your cursor on the bottom right corner of the picture and click on the thing to make it blow up.

My recommendation, assuming that you have a good backup of your Palm data files, is to:

1. Make a backup directory of all current Palm software.
2. Eliminate everything dealing with this offending program from that backup.
3. Hard reset Palm
4. Reinstall fresh copy of desktop software.
5. Sync, establish link to Palm
6. Copy the non-offending Palm files to the current Palm installation, and re-sync.

That should get rid of the problem.

Yeah, I was thinking of re-installing the Palm Desktop, but probably wouldn't have done it had you not said so.

But I forgot there is a CD stuck in my drive. No, the paperclip through the tiny hole won't work. My dad will have to fix it when he comes back from buisness.

So would their be any alternate solutions?

I installed the Pilot Install thing again because I needed to get a new game on my Palm. I'd be so angry if I went for days not syncing new apps to my Palm.

But, maybe pilot install is not such a bad idea.
Once you select all of your apps to install you hotsync it with the pilot install screen up and it syncs the new apps only, you don't have to update memo pad, cancel avantgo, etc..

But I would still like to know how to get back to the old way. Thanks,

There should be an option in PilotInstall's menu somewhere to make it (or not make it) the default installer for Palm programs. If not, try uninstalling, then reinstalling PilotInstall and see if you get a box asking you if you want to make it your default installer.
