While I am waiting for Palm to replace my Tungsten T ("Umm, what do you mean your hard plastic case got caught in a folding seat at a hockey game and pinched your PDA so hard when you sat down that it broke the screen and the display unit?" - question from my boss about two weeks ago, I'm still in shock and denial and I only had it for 3 weeks!), I have a second question...

Does anyone here synch both at home and at the office? Is there a special way to tell the Tungsten T itself that one config is the office, one is work? I had separate "names" configured at work and at home (i.e. my configuration at work was called "Paul" - connected to Lotus Notes through the NotesSynch - limited only to the calendar function; my account at home was "PolyWogg" and connected to PalmDesktop for everything EXCEPT calendar function).

It worked fine for a week or two, or so I thought, and then it seemed to get confused in both places and reset itself to synching EVERYTHING in both places -- is there a way to configure the choice of profile from the PDA? i.e. go to the Tungsten, highlight "Synch using this home profile now" and do the same to highlight "Synch using this work profile now", rather than relying on the profiles stored on the PC?

Grateful for any suggestions for how to synch better when I get the T back from replacement. I'm open even to synching at home and at work to just the Palm Desktop and ignoring my Notes Calendar (alhtough it does have network capabilities to link to others' calendars for auto scheduling) or worst case, only synching in one place (probably home).

My boss syncs his Palm at work, where we have Lotus Notes & his calendar is shared with others. We use the Pylon Pro conduit to get the Lotus data.

He also syncs at his home computer, but the user name is the same as the user name at work. He syncs everything but his calendar to the Palm desktop at home. I think the key is using the same user name for your handheld. I am responsible for technical support & this system works for him with no problem other than his forgetting to charge the battery.:)
