I think (and I'll stand corrected if I'm wrong!) that your connection is simply to the laptop and not to your wifi hub - kinda like an infrared connection. Your adhoc connection allows for hotsyncing and file transfer ets but to browse the web the T|C needs to be connected to the wifi hub that is connected to your dsl connection.

At least thats how I understand it.

I've read somewhere that somebody got this working.

You have to enable network sharing on the PC. Otherwise you only get PDA to PC communication.

FWI - Palm's official statement is that this is not a supported configuration (I guess they didn't want a support headache :D ).

Assuming your laptop is connected to the internet somehow, you have to enable either Internet Connection Sharing, or some other routing software to enable the routing of packets to and from your T|C and the internet. By default, I believe an adhoc connection only connects the two computers, but no routing takes place. From what I have heard on other forums, it's a hit and miss situation with ICS though. Sometimes they connect, sometimes they don't. I would suggest getting a WAP instead -- painless and not that expensive either.
