I bought my m125 a week ago. This is the first b/w pda that I have owned. The back light does not work well in the day, it works a little better in the dark. Is this normal or should I take it back. Thanks.

Don't worry. It is normal for the backlight to not work that great in situations where there is only a little light. The backlight works great in total darkness though.

Thanks. I guess I will keep it. That is the only thing that I don't like about it. But, I guess I can live with it.

I use a hack called lighthack to reverse the backlight. It will also allow switching back to the regular backlight too.

I have attached the file to this message.

You can also reverse the backlight simply by going to Memo Pad, open a new memo, make the grafitti short cut stroke (looks like a lower case cursive L), make a grafitti period (two taps), write the number 8 in the number area. YOu should get the message "reversing backlight." Please use this trick with caution since it can have serious concequences if you use numbers other than 8 and 6. Six shows the Palm's birthday.

Hey, does this work for the m105? Tried it on mine, got a message that the backlight was reversed, but nothing other than that happened. :P

I have not used the 125 so cannot give you a secure Yes or No. I can only assume that if your 125's OS sends you the message saying the backlight is reversed then the back light is reversed. You will only notice this change in the dark when you turn on the back light. Try both ways. Simply enter the strokes again and the back light will revert to the standard, dark letters on a bright background. Pick the one you can read best.

Nevermind. You have to turn it off and on again before anything happens.

I was suggesting it was in your best interest to try both the reversed and the standard mode backlighting to determine which was best for you personally. It was not my intention to suggest you had to turn the reverse back lighting on and off for each use.
