The best price I have found on the net for the iQue is $499.00. Has anybody seen a better price?

Go to TV Nav (http://www.tvnav.com/index.html) and then click on the email us for the price option on the portion of the site for the iQue 3600. It beats the $499.

Thank you Mooseman; your source is a significantly better price than mine. Have you dealt with this company? Are they reputable? How do they handle customer problems? Thanks again for your help.

So far my dealings with Darrel have been just this unit. I'm awaiting delivery like everyone else however his email responses to my questions have been timely and very professional. He comes to me highly recommended so he has a good history with people I know.

Since he is also located in Garmin's USA backyard - he should be in the know. He has had my credit card information for over two months and nothing has been charged and I've asked that certain accessories be held and shipped with the device - which he has graceously complied, and no complaints in the process.

Hope this helps.

Darrel Goheen is a regular on the sci.geo.satellite-nav newsgroup. I have never seen anyone mention a complaint about his business or him personally, infact he receives regular praise everytime anyone posts a question asking about his company. I have purchased from him a couple of times in the last 4 years, and have an iQue on order from him now. I too added accessories to my order a week or two after ordering the iQue, and Darrel added that to my order cheerfully. (I have no other connections with TVNAV than being a customer.)

Hi all. First off, thanks for all of your posts -- I have learned a lot.

I have an iQue on pre-order with Amazon, but I just checked out the prices about which you posted. How can there be such a discrepancy between iQue prices? I have a feeling I need to cancel my Amazon order...

I suggest ordering from an authorized Garmin dealer (I don't know if Amazon is an authorized dealer, but I do know that TVNAV is). You can find authorized dealers listed on Garmin's website. I would really be surprised if a non-authorized dealer gets the iQue as quickly as the authorized dealers do.

Good point, Don. I have placed my order with Darrel -- nice guy, fast service... impressive. I asked him about how he keeps his prices so low, and he told me that he has a very small margin, and he wants to sell as many as possible at this low price, as opposed to making a huge profit on each unit. Furthermore, he has virtually no advertising, so that keeps operating costs down; he operates from word of mouth.

He has about 130 on pre-order, so let's hope that his first shipment is a big one so that we can all get ours soon ;-)

I'm certain since he is an authorized dealer that his initial shipment will be adequate relative to Amazon's. I've always liked dealing with the "local" guy rather than the huge brick and mortar National boxes. I don't shop at Walmart because of this preference and usually don't shop the none local places. There aren't any local Garmin dealers in my town so I'd just as soon keep the little guy in business. The B&M places file bankruptcy and costs the consumer millions in the long run.....just look at Kmart.

At least with the local people you get individual service, which even though Darrel isn't local to me....he has provided excellent service relative to any B&M place that I know.
